Special Educational Programming at McKinley-Thatcher
What is Cross-Categorical Programming?
Cross-Categorical Programming is the inclusion of students with Mild to Moderate disabilities and students with other learning modalities within the general curriculum. At McKinley-Thatcher Elementary School, the special education teachers collaborate closely with the general education teachers to make the curriculum accessible to all students.

We provide a continuum of special education services for the students who attend our school. Recent research and data tells us that the more a student is integrated in the general curriculum, and is provided with necessary accommodations, the greater the outcome for the student with special needs and for those not identified.
